Key points of the recruitment
SSC holds this exam every year to recruit Sub-Inspectors for Delhi Police and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). The 2026 notice covers four kinds of posts: SI (Executive) male and female in Delhi Police, SI (GD) in the CAPFs (CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, SSB), and SI (Fire) in CISF. All posts are in Pay Level-6 (₹35,400–1,12,400). We calculated the total of 1871 by adding up the post tables in the notice.
Eligibility
- Delhi Police SI and CAPF SI (GD): a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. Final-year students can apply if they hold the degree by 30-09-2026.
- SI (Fire) in CISF: a B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry and Maths, or Class 10 plus a 3-year diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Automobile, Chemical or a similar branch.
- Departmental Constables, Head Constables and ASIs of Delhi Police with 3 years of service get a separate upper age relaxation.
Selection process
There are four stages: Paper-I, PST/PET (physical tests), Paper-II and a Detailed Medical Examination.
- Paper-I (1 hour): Reasoning, General Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude and English – 25 questions and 25 marks each.
- Paper-II: 100 English Comprehension questions (200 marks, 1 hour) plus 20 questions each on Reasoning, GK and Maths (40 marks each).

- SSC does not allocate vacancies by state or zone.

How to Apply
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on ssc.gov.in. An OTR from the old ssc.nic.in site does not work on the new site.
- Log in with your OTR and open the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs Examination, 2026 form.
- Fill in post preferences, exam centres and other details.
- Pay the ₹100 fee online before 11 PM on 1 October 2026 (unless exempt).
- Submit the form and keep a printout.

What is the age limit?
